Sewing
After a couple weeks of debating whether we should get a Singer sewing machine or a “how-to-sew-for-dummies” Brother sewing machine, I decided on the later. Trust me… this sewing thing is not exactly a walk in the park. The last time I sewed was in high school, and I had a fallback (namely Mom) to rely on for any “mishaps at the wheel”. Alex’s mom actually owned a sewing factory for most of her career in the U.S. but did Alex learn a thing or two about sewing? Dunno, will have to see. In the meantime, he’s the resident sewing critic. I actually broke the needle on my first try (even after watching the DVD demo in slow motion a couple times). The machine halted and “Err” kept flashing on the LCD. Luckily they provided us a few extra needles in the “knew we were gonna getcha sucka” kit so we were on a roll after that. Before buying this model, I was so tempted to buy the Disney version of the Sewing/Embroidery machine, but thankfully I didn’t because a break of anything on that machine would have caused a bigger dent in the pocket book. Anyway, Nicholas’ 4 pant uniforms are finally sewn and he is wearing them to school today, just in time for the inclement weather. Yea!!! I feel so accomplished, and thankfully the pants are dark navy so the mishaps don’t show as much.
