Lullabye Lane Haunted?

I don’t get to watch too many reality shows despite the abundance out there today, but the one reality show I never miss is Ghost Hunters on the SciFi channel. At one point last year, Alex canceled our extended cable (half-way through the run of new Ghost Hunters episodes I might add) to save on cable costs. Alex convinced me to buy the DVD with the cost savings so I just settled with that idea. Then one night, after he saw me rewatch the few episodes I still had saved on our Tivo/DVR and seeing how excited I still get over the repeat episodes, he decided to re-instate our expanded cable subscription… just in time for the new opening episodes leading up to their Halloween Live event. Wooohooooo!

In this season’s “Spirits of San Francisco” episode, they covered two investigations. The first was at the Presidio where they caught two black figures on separate occasions in their video clips. The second investigation was of more interest to me because they were investigating the family-owned Lullabye Lane, a baby store in San Bruno, where we had frequented before to purchase baby furniture and other items. They didn’t catch much on video at this location, but they definitely caught some creepy EVP’s which seemingly corresponded to the questions being asked by the Ghost Hunters team. The owners, one of whom we’ve actually seen in the store previously, were the ones who had called Ghost Hunters in to investigate. How cool is that! TAPS coming all the way from Rhode Island to our neck of the woods.

Now when Ghost Hunters is off-season, I usually get my fix of paranormal shows by watching Montel Williams when psychic Sylvia Browne is on, Most Haunted (which I actually dislike terribly), A Haunting (which is a little too freaky for me at times), and other random paranormal specials which air on the Travel Channel.

I always look forward to October because not only does that mark the start of the holiday season, the weather finally cools down, the rains come again, we get an extra hour of sleep when we fall back an hour, and there’s an abundance of ghostly shows on tv at this time of the year! :-)

I like the paranormal type of shows/movies instead of those bloody macabre ones although it’s sort of mixed together sometimes in movies especially. Of course these shows freak me out sometimes but I guess that’s also part of the fun.

I also found out recently that there’s going to be a spinoff show, resulting from the immense success of Ghost Hunters, called Ghost Hunters International premiering January of 2008.  Here’s the details from one of the original TAPS team members MySpace website:

CI FI GREENLIGHTS GHOST HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL

First Spin-Off Of SCI FI’s ‘Ghost Hunters’ To Premiere In January 2008

New York, NY October 8, 2007 Building on the tremendous success of the hit reality series Ghost Hunters, SCI FI Channel has greenlit Ghost Hunters International, following the adventures of a new team of skeptical paranormal investigators as they travel all over Europe, applying their principles of scientific debunking to some of the continent’s most legendary haunted spots. Ghost Hunters International is slated to debut on SCI FI in January 2008.

Like their U.S. counterpart, TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society), Ghost Hunters International is a squad of real-life “ghost-busters” - ordinary people who investigate and attempt to debunk claims of otherworldly activity. The new team will travel to different European cities each week in pursuit of the truth behind bizarre supernatural claims.

Comprised of veteran TAPS investigators Robb Demarest, Andy Andrews, Brian Harnois, and Donna La Croix, along with Barry Fitzgerald (memorable from the Ghost Hunters’ legendary investigations in Ireland) and newcomer Shannon Sylvia, the Ghost Hunters International crew is primed to uncover some of the most startling paranormal evidence yet!

Ghost Hunters International is produced in association with Craig Piligian’s Pilgrim Films and Television (American Chopper, Dirty Jobs, The Ultimate Fighter). Piligian and Thomas Thayer, along with Rob Katz and Alan David, serve as executive producers.

Grace’s darker side….. I’m into those types of shows also, but not Wayne, so I end up not watching them as much as I would like to. Lullabye Lane - wow flashback! It seems years years years ago….
