Disney Excursion

Well, I took another trip down south again this past weekend and on my way home from LA, dragged Julia and my parents along again to my favorite hangout: Disneyland. My parents were well prepared this time (on our last detour, my mom didn’t have the right clothing with her so she was walking around the park in her nice clothes and dress shoes). Anyways, this time both my parents had on sneakers and lots of extra clothing. It was so ridiculously crowded that Saturday afternoon/night, but Julia and I finally made it on the Indiana Jones ride, twice using my parents fast passes. There must have been special events or conventions going on because I saw an amazing amount of deaf and/or mute guests, and lots of people running around in green T-shirts with “deaf interpreter” written on the back. There were also large groups of middle school aged or high school girls everywhere probably in town for local dance troupe competititions. Anyways, it was definitely very crowded considering it was an off-season day, but then again… Saturdays are always crowded there I suppose. Being at Disney with adults is a totally different experience than being at Disney with kids so that’s my reason for wanting to go when I’m not with the kids.

Since it was pretty warm that afternoon, I got some Dole Whip Floats (right at the entrance to the Enchanted Tiki Room) for everyone to try for the 1st time, and it was pretty good. The line was long though… but at least Julia was able to go grab us some fast passes while I waited.

For a portion of the time when Julia and I were off on the rides, we camped our parents out at the Carnation Plaza Pavilion where they hold Saturday evening big band/swing dancing. I figured they needed a bit of rest in between walks so they might as well have some entertainment. Not sure if I’ll drag my parents there again next time I’m in town, well maybe when they open the new Nemo Submarine ride. :-)

I assume you didn’t have the kids with you right? Isn’t it pure fun to go there without worrying about the kids? I did that once and I realized what I’ve been missing along! No wonder why the kids have soooooooooo much fun at Disneyland.
