Garlic King

Ever since Alex discovered the medicinal quality of garlic, he’s taken garlic pills, and tosses tons and tons of garlic into his cooking. I myself love garlic (including the raw kind) but try to avoid too much garlic as a courtesy to my coworkers who have to work with me day in day out. Alex of course considers me too sensitive in that respect so I’m more relaxed about it these days. Well this past weekend, Alex prepared a pot of non-spicy ma-po tofu and probably put in a couple heads of garlic in that dish. On the day I packed that for lunch, I picked out about 6 cloves of garlic before starting on my meal (I kindly ask Alex to keep the cloves whole if he plans on putting in that much into a dish. That way, I can easily pick ‘em out). Anyways yesterday, Alex packed Wesley the ma-po tofu for lunch as Wesley seemingly enjoyed the dish the night before. And as a result, Wesley literally became a walking stink bomb. Later that night, I actually complained to Alex about sabotaging our little guy. I mean…. how many friends is he gonna have being known as “pepe la peu”.

    Hehehee…

All four of us are garlic lovers.
When I cook sliced garlic with spinach, for example, the garlic are gone instantly and they ask for more. I let the kids have them all.

We’ll need to find some whole cooked garlic recipes.

When I want a good dose of garlic (raw), I like the korean Red Leaf Lettuce with tons of minced garlic - definitely a weekend dish.

    Red Leaf Lettuce Salad

    4 oz red leaf lettuce
    1 Tablespoon ground red pepper
    1 Tablespoon soy sauce
    1 teaspoon sesame seeds
    1 teaspoon chopped green onion
    ½ teaspoon chopped garlic
    sesame seed oil

    1. Clean and cut lettuce into small pieces
    2. Mix lettuce leaf and ingrediences above (add sesame oil last, before serving)

    Yummy…yummy…

:)))))) I heard the same thing about garlic.
My father in law is a health freak.
Every morning mother in law prepares some
kind of drink with garlic in it. It’s cold
there so people don’t sweat or smell too much
but I prefer not to drink garlic in the morning. We send garlic there when we get a chance since
it’s either cheaper for better quality here.
I eat heavy garlic stuff on the weekends since
it seems to take a day to get the smell out of my mouth completely.
