Swim Class (Winter ‘08, Week 3)

Today was a good day! Wesley was excited about class and both kids were well-behaved and in good spirits. Mr. Adam had Wesley and another child on opposite sides of a kick board swimming against each other. They also practiced sitting dives from the pool ledge and back floats. Wesley still does his silly bent knee kicks in the water when he swims so even though he makes the biggest, most exciting splashes as he swims, he doesn’t really go very far. Funny to see but not what the teacher wants obviously. He continues to work on the unassisted rollovers from front-to-back.
Nicholas did a great job in class today. His bent arm freestyle seems to be improving and I can tell that he’s really enjoying these swim classes.  Since Nicholas only has 3 people in class with 2 instructors, he’s also getting a lot of practice time in.  They worked a lot on the backstroke in today’s session so that was kind of neat to watch, the kids really have to maintain good form to prevent veering into other lanes and staying afloat.
