Swim Class II (Week 7)
I missed watching both their classes this week because I was at their hectic front desk trying to secure a spot for the Spring session coming up. The cool thing is that Nicholas and Wesley’s class will start at the same time (finally!) so I get to watch them for the entire 30 minutes which I’m excited about. I’ve been missing most of Nicholas’ class because 15 minutes through I usually need to pick up Wesley and get him changed. Today, the teacher told me that Wesley is doing really well with the ’scissor kicks’ as I call it, and he’ll just have to start making his kicks bigger is all. Wesley is signed up for the Octopus class next session so he’ll be doing much of what Nicholas has been learning these past sessions. Nicholas’ teacher is still working hard with Nicholas to do his turns (I think these are the front-to-back ones) which he says he just needs a lot of practice on to perfect. The thing I’m most happy about is that these teachers really do a great job of inspiring the kids. Nicholas did some deep-end stunts today which he was really excited about and the teacher told me that it’s these defining moments at the deep end that really determines whether the kids are going to love it or have a harder time getting the hang of it, and looks like Nicholas passed with flying colors so… Hawaii here we come! He was sad that I missed his deep end experience, but I told him that I won’t again starting in March.
