Mont Sainte-Michel/Normandy

Mont St. Michel

The background header image for the-truongs.com (in case anyone wondered) was from a panoramic shot taken with our age-old Avantix camera from atop the Mont St. Michel. The view from the monastery perched high on the center of the island was breathtaking so I had to capture at least 1 visual like that to take home with me. And nearby, the city of St. Malo, a city just off the ocean surrounded by fort walls, is also a neat visit as well.

Inspired by my father’s interest in war history, I was determined to visit the coast of Normandy on our last trip to France. Alex had his reservations about making the detour from Mont Sainte-Michel to Paris this way, but he ended up being even more excited than me about this portion of the trip. We visited the D-Day Landing Museum in Arromanche and I got lots of memorabilia to take home for my father from this trip. It was really neat getting all those panoramic shots of the beaches that still hold debris of the aftermath even to this day.
