Kyle’s Pirate Bday Party

Kyle just turned 7 year old, and he celebrated the occasion with a swashbuckling adventure put together by his fantastic team of dream builders. I call them that because from his invitation to all the party props and costumes, this team (made up of mom/dad/aunt/cousin) does it all. Their creativity in party planning is definitely a feat to be admired and they never disappoint. Here are a couple highlights from that fun event:

  • Master Pirate in dreadlocks - you’ve got to see it to believe it.
  • Capt. Kyle - dapper as always in any uniform, costume, or outfit.
  • Pirate maidens - the other focal points for the party.
  • Treasure hunt - this search for clues and hidden loot was an adventure for all. I’ve never seen so many kids move in unison so swiftly or intently for that matter, but the finale was best of all — dividing the loot.
  • Pirate’s grub - thanks to the pirates in “the galley” hard at work, all was fed well.
  • Walking the plank - Each pirate recruit began their maiden voyage with a walk off the plank to see who was faint at heart and who was worthy of this crew.
  • Other perks - tattoos, pirate cake, games, pirate’s chest, gold doubloons, a dip in the sea, pirate music/decor, plus walk away goodies taken by all the landlubbers who abandoned ship at the end of the voyage.

Thanks again to the Jarvinens yet again for bringing a themed party to life and a very happy birthday to Kyle!
