Ratatouille
On Saturday, we took the kids to see Ratatouille. They liked the movie but got really fidgety in the last 20 minutes. It was a whopping 1hr 50min long, and I think some of the antagonistic plots and feelings were a little more difficult to understand for them. At least they had lots of funny little scenes sprinkled throughout so those made for some good laughs. Wesley was ready to cover his eye at the anticipation of some fight scenes but he quickly realized that this is not one of those action movies, like the Incredibles. Of course I love the fact that the backdrop of the movie was Paris and that the soundtrack included french songs as well, but I was most impressed by how Pixar had succeeded again at creating a movie with classic Disney flare.
Julia came with us to see the movie since I knew she’d enjoy its cooking theme. And after the movie, we met up with her husband and went to Sushi O Sushi in Santa Clara for dinner. We ordered the kids their own meals which were almost the same size as ours, and they both gobbled up most of the stuff on the plate… I guess they were mighty hungry, but I haven’t seen them eat that much in a long time. We used to have dinner here all the time until we moved further south, but their ambience has improved tremendously since their renovation a couple years back. The food is really good, sushi fresh, but all our beef teriyaki’s came to our table cold so that’s an x-nay on their marks… a la Anton Ego.
