King Kong & Nicholas’ Potluck
King Kong
After enjoying a feast of singaporean food, our group was treated to a movie starring King Kong. The movie was entertaining but not something I would have particularly cared for. Instead, I found the setting/costumes in the film to be of more interest to me. I also noticed that they casted Adrien Brody and Thomas Kretschmann (actor who played Capt. Hosenfeld opposite Brody in the award-winning movie ‘The Pianist’) together again for this film which was interesting that’s all. Anyways, just as we were approaching the halfway point, I had to make my escape (in time for Nicholas’ potluck and performance). Well, I suppose being able to enjoy half a movie is better than none.
Nicholas’ Celebration at School
So we arrived in time for Nicholas’ event at school and were greeted by Christmas carolers performing a piece for the class. The kids had just come in from outside play so the potluck of desserts seemed a welcome sight. There weren’t many non-sweet foods as it turns out so the adults basically watched as the kids enjoyed their suger-feast. Later on, the parents were each presented a colorful macaroni-crusted framed photo by their child and you can see how proud the kids were of their personal creations. The kids’ performance was given shortly afterwards, but as it turns out everyone was singing except our Nicholas standing way in the back. Oh well… at least we got our preview and postview of his performance at home.
